Will Young is an international singer, award-nominated actor and gay icon. From Brit Awards to talent show wins, Will’s career has been extensive and has seen him amass a global fan following. Using his established public profile to bring awareness to important issues, Will is a prominent advocate for LGBT+ rights who offers positive strategies to improve inclusion and acceptance in workplaces.

Best known for his music career, Will was the winner of the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2002, instantly skyrocketing him to stardom. What followed was four UK number one singles, 96 weeks in the UK top 40 and seven solo tours with sold-out dates. A talented singer with exception stage presence, Will’s singles like Evergreen and Leave Right Now have become turn of the century classics and he has been recognised with endless accolades. Two Brit Awards, three Top of the Pops Awards and two BT Digital Music Awards later, Will’s place and popularity in music history are sealed.

As an openly gay man, Will’s pride in his sexuality has supported the progressive change in the music industry and beyond. Acting as a role model to younger generations, Will’s authenticity has been influential for many in the LGBT+ community, and his music has also been recognised by a Gay Music Chart Award. In 2015 he received the Best Song with a Message Award for Brave Man. In 2020, Will released his book ‘To be a Gay Man’ to international acclaim, for his honesty and openness.

Will has diversified his career to incorporate media engagements, books and acting for which he was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award when he appeared in Cabaret. Most recently, he has become sought after for his impact and influence as an LGBT+ speaker at events.
