John Amaechi OBE

John Amaechi OBE is a renowned organisational psychologist and consultant, bestselling author, and Professor of Leadership at the University of Exeter Business School. As the founder of APS Intelligence LTD, John has dedicated his career to transforming leaders and cultures with cutting-edge behavioural science supported by in-depth psychological insights. His talks promote sustainable growth, ethical leadership, and organisational wellbeing.

Starting his career as a Professional NBA Player, he became the first British Male to build a career in the NBA and the first former NBA player to publicly come out as gay. John then moved into the world of organisational psychology, founding APS Intelligence and working to drive resilience, ambition, and transformation within teams, senior executives, and global brands. John has made waves as a Member of the Diversity & Inclusion Board of Sanofi, the Inclusive Leadership Board of KPMG UK, and was also on the LOCOG Diversity Board of the London 2012 Olympic Games. He is a contributing writer and Associate Fellow for The British Psychological Society, as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.
