Bisexual Speakers

As discussions on diversity and inclusion progress, bisexual individuals continue to face distinct challenges while striving for wider acceptance. Our Bisexual Speakers provide crucial insights into the experiences of bisexual people, addressing issues such as identity, workplace inclusion, and the common occurrence of identity erasure in broader society. By sharing their personal stories, these speakers encourage understanding and promote environments where bisexual individuals are fully acknowledged and valued.

Significant awareness days, like Bi Visibility Day on 23rd September, offer opportunities to highlight the achievements and struggles of bisexual people. Likewise, IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia) on 17th May draws attention to the specific challenges bisexuals face within the LGBTQ+ movement.

Despite increasing awareness, bisexual people still confront serious societal hurdles, including heightened rates of poverty and domestic abuse. Human Rights Campaign research shows that 25% of bisexual adults live in poverty—higher than rates among gay, lesbian, and heterosexual populations. Additionally, in the UK, bisexual women experience domestic abuse at a rate of 13.7%, while bisexual men face abuse at 5%, significantly higher than their heterosexual counterparts. Within the LGBTQ+ community itself, bisexual people often face exclusion, with only 28% feeling fully accepted in queer spaces, according to GLAAD.

Booking one of our Bisexual Speakers offers organisations the opportunity to address these critical issues. These advocates and leaders bring invaluable insights into bisexual identity, helping to inspire conversations, challenge stereotypes, and create inclusive spaces where bisexual individuals can truly thrive.
