World-renowned LGBT+ consultant, Gina Battye has more than 23 years of experience transforming individual and corporate clients with her insights into LGBT+ inclusion. Developing leading techniques to ensure employees can be authentic and safe in the workplace has seen Gina become a sought-after leader in her field, regularly selling out coaching programmes and being booked to speak for FSTE 100 companies. Armed with her compelling personal experiences, Gina’s presentations are educational and engaging, leading to a lasting impact on audiences.
Known for developing two highly acclaimed processes, Gina is the thought-leader behind ‘The Authentic Self Process’ and ‘The 5 Pillars of Psychological Safety’. Creating the psychological safety system over 20 years ago, Gina saw a gap in education when it came to workplace inclusion and has used the five-step process to build fully inclusive workplaces for clients including the NHS, BBC and Barclays. Additionally, she has founded the Authentic Self Process which supports individuals in realising their true self, established through her time working with ex-offenders.
From a child too scared to speak to a world-class event speaker, Gina’s journey was challenging and involved extensive self-reflection. After coming out as gay in her early 20s, Gina endured bullying at work, targeted for her sexuality. This bullying led to physical health problems, poor work performance and inner turmoil for Gina, however, determined to overcome her adversity she fought back. In a transformation that not only allowed her to mentally heal but drop 5 dress sizes, Gina changed the world rather than herself.
Now, backed with a Speaker of the Year award, 11 years of sold-out coaching programmes and an audience reach of over 10 million a week, Gina is pioneering workplace inclusion methods. A prominent expert in the media, Gina also speaks on LGBT+ issues for news outlets and has been known to advise on ‘Playing it Gay Guidelines’ on film sets.
In 2024, we conducted an exclusive interview with Gina Battye to discover the importance of psychological safety in the workplace.
