Rebecca Adams is an Australian TV and radio presenter who has been making waves in the UK for her advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health. As a presenter and producer for Gaydio, she is dedicated to using her platform to ensure the LGBTQ+ community are represented on the radio. Comfortable in front of a crowd with many years of presenting experience under her belt, Rebecca is the presenter and producer of the humorous podcast ‘So This Is Adulting’. Now, when hired as a speaker, Rebecca brings her passion for the LGBTQ+ community and mental health to her talks, speaking openly on how to deal with trauma, depression, anxiety and how to deal with being a ‘girl boss’.
Whilst working as a bartender in Australia, Rebecca realised her dream of breaking into the entertainment industry and decided to quit her day job. Rebecca started building her expertise in the field with three internships with Ralph Carr Management, Collarts (Australian College of the Arts) and Vicious Recordings. Rebecca also spent time as an Announcer and Producer for SYN FM, a segment Presenter for Ryan Goldman Show, a Music Editor for Australian Times Magazine, a Lifestyle Blogger for WordPress, a Creative Writer for CANBERRA FM Radio and an Assistant Television Producer for Southern Cross Austereo as her last role in her home country. Since coming to the UK, Rebecca has been building her expertise in the entertainment industry and was a researcher for ITV, an Assistant Producer for Fubar Radio Limited, Assistant Producer for talkRADIO and is now the co-owner of Dream PR.
With a passion for creating content to entertain a wide audience, in her podcast, Rebecca hilariously educates her audience on what not to do as an adult. With an incredible talent for speaking and entertaining a crowd whilst still getting across important and meaningful messages, Rebecca was chosen to host grief events with Mental Health Matters. Using her own tragic life events of losing her mother to cancer when she was young, Rebecca educates her audience on how to deal with the trauma of losing a loved one and all of the negative emotions which come with it. Her talks are refreshingly open and honest, wanting to ensure she does not feed lies such as ‘everything will be ok’ – her audience leaves feeling as though they are not alone in their struggles.
Rebecca is fast becoming a highly sought-after speaker on topics such as LGBTQ+ rights, women in the workplace and how to deal with tragedy having spoken at events such as untangled grief. Her opinions can be found in the likes of the Daily Mail, OK Magazine!, Tyler, Hello! and Happiful, to name a few. As an advocate and ally of the LGBTQ+ community, Rebecca is adept in educating organisations and corporations on how to ensure a more inclusive work environment and how to empower women in the workplace.
