LGBT History Month Speakers

LGBT History Month is an annual celebration, taking place from the 1st of February to the 28th of February 2025. Commemorating the achievements of LGBT+ people throughout history, the month is also a way of raising awareness of the discrimination they have faced in years gone by, and the prejudice they continue to face today.

LGBT History Month was created back in 1994, by high school teacher Rodney Wilson. Now celebrated worldwide, LGBT History Month creates role models and represents the contributions of LGBT+ people to society. A key date in the diversity and inclusion calendar, make sure you are celebrating throughout February!

The theme of LGBT History Month 2024 is Activism and Social Change. This theme will celebrate the role LGBT+ people have played in shaping society

In a world where almost 50% of all LGBT pupils have faced bullying at school for being LGBT, it is more important than ever that we commemorate the rights fought for and challenges overcome by the LGBT community, ensuring that future generations grow up in a world without discrimination.
